Annually one of the biggest racing days in Louisiana, "Delta Jackpot Night" features six stakes races with a combined purse of $1.6 million. The outstanding night of racing is topped by a pair of 2-year-old races -- the Grade 3, $750,000 Delta Jackpot (at 1 1/16 miles), and the Gr. 3, $500,000 Delta Princess (one mile), powered by Youbet.com.
HRTV's in-studio hosts and analysts -- Laffit Pincay, III, Jeff Siegel, Peter Lurie and Zoe Cadman -- will provide in-depth analysis and commentary throughout the Delta Downs card. The network's coverage will be supplemented by the onsite presence of Caton Bredar, who will supply interviews and late-breaking news, from trackside.
In addition, HRTV's new weekly handicapping show, "The Edge," which normally airs on Friday evenings, will be moved to Thursday this week (7:30 p.m. CT) and devote its 30-minute format to an informative, detailed analysis of "Delta Jackpot Night's" Pick 4, which carries a $100,000 guaranteed payout. (The Pick 4, which starts with race six, commences at 8:04 p.m. CT.)
The show will be co-hosted by Aaron Vercruysse and Joanne Jones. Racing fans may also view "The Edge" online, via http://www.hrtv.com, beginning at 7 a.m. ET on Friday.
