Intriguing Vision kicked off her winning streak on Dec. 30 when she captured a $10,000 claiming race for trainer Andy Mathis. Mathis entered Intriguing Vision back in a $16,000 claiming race on Jan. 29 and she won again while being claimed by leading trainer Jerry Hollendorfer.
The suspicious drop in class from $20,000 to $10,000 off a winning effort didn’t dissuade handicappers, who made Intriguing Vision the 6-to-5 favorite, or Hollendorfer, who claimed her back. Intriguing Vision made the short price look like a gift when she scored by five lengths and paid $4.40.
Intriguing Vision was ridden to all four of her victories by jockey Aaron Gryder, who has managed to stay aboard the filly despite the barn changes.
Jockey Russell Baze rode four winners Thursday. Baze took the second race with For Sure for Sure ($5.00), the fifth with Apply ($8.20), the sixth with Excelling ($4.00), and the seventh with 12-to-1 longshot Vulcan ($26.20).
Racing resumes at Golden Gate Fields Friday. Post time is 12:45 p.m.
