Trained by Jane Cibelli, JJ’s Lucky Train covered the six furlongs on a fast track in 1:09 1/5 and paid $5.60, $3.40 and $2.40. It was a length back to Safe Trip who completed the $34.80 exacta and paid $6.80 and $3.60. It was another half-length back to Well Spelled, who paid $2.40 to show.
A 4-year-old colt by Silver Train from the Thunder Gulch mare Delta Sensation, JJ’s Lucky Train scored for the first time in 2012 and the sixth time in 17 lifetime starts by taking the Friday feature.
