HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - Jockeys Paco Lopez and Antonio Gallardo could be released later today from Memorial Regional Hospital after being involved in a spill during Saturday’s last race at Gulfstream Park.

Lopez, Gulfstream’s third-leading jockey this year and the top rider the previous two seasons, suffered a broken collarbone in the spill that occurred at the top of the stretch in a 7 ½-furlong turf event. Gallardo is sore from the spill but has no broken bones. A third jockey involved in the spill, Luis Jurado, walked away from the mishap.

The riders’ three horses were not injured.
