The Shadwell organisation of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum again sponsor the feature race at Jebel Ali on Friday afternoon with the name of Kingwood House Stables attached to the main 1600m handicap.

Owned by Sheikh Hamdan, Marcus Tregoning trains from the Lambourn training establishment.

The race has attracted a quality entry with Sheikh Hamdan duo Great Plains and Iqte Saab heading the weights.

Retained jockey Richard Hills elects to ride Iqte Saab, one of two in the race trained by Doug Watson who also saddles veteran Dubai Honor.

Dhruba Selvaratnam, who trains on the track, saddles both Mulaqat and Mannjal with stable jockey William Buick choosing the latter, explaining: “He has the advantage of race fitness and we know he loves the track.

He is in great form and we hope the 1600m will suit him as he has done his winning over 1400m.

Selvaratnam’s Alo Pura and Buick look like they will be hard to beat in the following 1600m handicap which is confined to fillies and mares, while South African Mike De Kock returns to Jebel Ali action.

A regular visitor to the track, he saddles Musaytir in the concluding 1000m handicap.
