EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - January 29, 2009 - The Meadowlands has announced a job opening for a trackman to work under the racetrack superintendent.

The position is track operations supervisor and the salary range is $51,100 to $78,900 with an excellent benefits package.

The track operations supervisor implements the track maintenance and conditioning programs established by the racetrack superintendent, directs the activities of work crews assigned to groom and condition the surfaces in preparation for racing and in closing the track after racing, attends the racing program and takes appropriate action to ensure the most favorable conditions regarding the racing surfaces and works with the racing secretaries in scheduling shift-to-shift track grooming.

The job requires training and past experience, including knowledge of horse racing surface maintenance and grooming techniques gained through experience with a racing facility.

The candidate should also have excellent interpersonal skills, and experience in working with horsemen. Some supervisory experience is preferred.
