TORONTO, November 30 - C E C Farms charge Milwaukee Appeal notched her first career stakes win in Sunday's $151,200 Ontario Lassie at Woodbine.

The daughter of Milwaukee Brew sat just off the pace and opened up a comfortable lead in mid-stretch to capture the 30th edition of the 1 1/16-mile contest for Ontario-foaled two-year-old fillies by 1 1/4 lengths.

From between horses with belated interest, 2-5 favorite Retraceable edged D' Country for the runner-up position.

Milwaukee Appeal, who was ridden by Na Somsanith, traveled the 1 1/16-mile distance in 1:45.43 on a snowy, windy afternoon.

The bay filly raced in third, within two lengths, for the first half-mile, which D' Country carved out in :50.19. On the second turn, Milwaukee Appeal advanced on the leader and took charge in upper stretch.

"This filly has improved from day one. She's matured and always gotten better with each race," said winning trainer Scott Fairlie.

Fairlie said the sire side of Milwaukee Appeal's pedigree suggested his pupil would enjoy route racing. In two two-turn attempts, both stakes, she has one win and one second-place finish, which came in the Princess Elizabeth on Nov. 1.

"Milwaukee Brew stamps his foals pretty well," he added.

The homebred filly, who is out of Appealing Forum, is now 3-for-6 with $207,538 in earnings.

Milwaukee Appeal returned $17.90, $4, $3.20, combining with Retraceable ($2.20, $2.10) for a $35 exactor. D' Country ($6.60) completed a $227.60 triactor. Fourth-place finisher Dance for Us rounded out a $1 superfecta worth $603.55.
