The middle leg of the Arabian Triple Crown was the feature at Abu Dhabi on Sunday evening and the prize went to Oman with the Philippe Barbe-trained Al Charif able to concede weight all round.

David Badel was in the saddle and it was the second time in three weeks that the colours of the Omani Royal Cavalry had been carried to Abu Dhabi victory.‬‬‪‪

The only Thoroughbred race on the card, a 2200m conditions race and a prep for the Listed Abu Dhabi Championship, was won by Detonator, trained by Musabah Al Muhairi and ridden by Wayne Smith who said: "We thought he would run well as he likes it around here. He ran well enough at the Carnival last week but the Listed race back here will be his main target."‬‬‪‪

The earlier 2200m conditions race, restricted to mares, went to Maram, ridden by Jesus Rosales for trainer Majid Al Jahouri.‬‬‪‪

The opening 2200m handicap was won by Albar Lotois, trained by Eric Lemartinel and ridden by Gerald Avranche. It was the horse's third win of the campaign and the trainer went on to complete a double when Af Dhaham took a 1400m maiden under Wencelas Walter.‬‬‪‪

Mooser lost his maiden tag at the 11th attempt when winning the first 1400m maiden in the hands of Alan Munro who said: "He is a nice little horse and has been very consistent. He deserved to get his head in front."‬‬‪‪
