Dave Chappell, Bill Pershin and Michael Sutherland's P V Lightening posted an upset score in the $100,000 Delaware Thoroughbred Horsemen Association (DTHA) Owners Day Stakes at Delaware Park today.

With Travis Dunkelberger astride, the 4-year-old son of Sultry Song notched a 7 3/4-length victory and returned $30.60 as the second longest shot in the field of six. Better Than Bonds, with Ramon Dominguez aboard, finished second 6 1/2-lengths in front of the 3-to-5 favorite Solar Flare, with Gabriel Saez, in third. P V Lightening ran the mile and an eighth in 1:49.98 over a sloppy main track. The Maryland-bred trained by Gary Capuano raised his career record to four wins from 12 starts with earnings of $154,364.
