Jack K. Robbins, VMD, has stepped down as President of the Oak Tree Racing Association and has assumed the chairmanship of the Board of Directors. Dr. Robbins is the last remaining founding director of Oak Tree Racing Association and is much revered throughout the racing community.
Dr. Robbins has provided outstanding leadership during the history of Oak Tree including the last eleven years as president, a time of great change for Oak Tree and the industry. He now wants to spend more time with his wife, Maggie, who has been very ill for several years.
John Barr has been elected to succeed Dr. Robbins as president. Barr, an Oak Tree Director of 14 years and a prominent member of the California horse racing community who has served as president of the CTBA, and is still a member of the CTBA Board. Barr currently serves on the Jockey Club Thoroughbred Safety Committee. He is a past-steward of the Jockey Club and past-director of Breeders’ Cup Ltd. Barr is also currently Treasurer of the Richard Nixon Foundation.
With his wife Betty, Barr breeds and races under the name of Oakcrest Stable.
