Saturday’s are becoming the busiest morning of the week on the Nad Al Sheba gallops and a host of horses from various countries were out stretching their legs.

The Japanese pair of Earth Living and Black Emblem were among these and took a leisurely stroll around the dirt track, while Australia’s Dubai International Racing Carnival’s representatives were others spotted for the first time.

Luca Cumani saddled his first local winner on Thursday courtesy of Presvis and his Waldvogal and Bon Spiel both worked on the turf, as did dual 2008 Dubai International Racing Carnival winner Wise Dennis.

He was partnered by Ted Durcan who was in the saddle for both last year’s wins for trainer Alan Jarvis.

Red Eye Express may have missed the first night of the Carnival but John Oxx’s charge looks to have recovered from that minor setback.

The Andrew Balding-trained Banknote will be a first UAE runner for Her Majesty The Queen of England and he too was out this morning bidding to add to his trainer’s three previous UAE winners – highlighted by the 2005 Group 1 Dubai Sheema Classic victory of Phoenix Reach with his first ever runner.

A Group 3 winner, the seven-year-old won at Lingfield just before Christmas and looked in good shape as he went through his paces earlier.

With horses from South Africa, Bahrain, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Spain, Greece and France, to name but a few, also seen, it was a truly Cosmopolitan morning at the Nad Al Sheba track as the Carnival hots up.
