Goldmine Investments purchased the colt, out of the Mr. Greeley mare Princess Falina and from the family of champion mare Cascapedia and Australian graded stakes winner Republic Lass. He was consigned by Margaux Farm LLC, agent.
Keeneland sold 209 horses on Friday for gross receipts of $2,517,000, down 36 percent from 2007 when 230 horses brought $3,935,400. The average of $12,043 decreased 29.6 percent from last year’s $17,110, while the median of $8,500 was down 24.4 percent from $11,250 in 2007.
Cumulatively, Keeneland has sold 2,438 horses for $181,386,000, down 46.1 percent from the corresponding period last year when 2,896 horses brought $336,627,500. The average of $74,400 represents a 36 percent decrease from $116,239 in 2007. The median was down 37.8 percent from $45,000 in 2007 to $28,000 this year.
Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale continues through Monday. Sessions begin at 10 a.m. daily.
