INGLEWOOD, Calif. (April 9, 2009) — Hollywood Park will move its Friday night concert series to the spacious North Park to better accommodate patrons at the 2009 Spring/Summer Meet.

KC and the Sunshine Band will be the first to appear with a performance following the final race on Friday, April 24. First post time is at 7:05 p.m.

The move will not only provide more room for patrons and added concession stands, restrooms and betting windows, it will result in a reduced price as the concert will be included with General Admission of $8. In recent years, the cost was $10 as the concerts were held in tighter confines within the Clubhouse. After 10 p.m., admission to the concert is $20.

The North Park, located at the north end of the grandstand, affords an excellent view of the turn for home and the stretch. It is bordered on the north by Cassidy Lane, the path horses use to walk from the stable area to the saddling area.

Hollywood Park has lined up concerts for the 12 Friday night programs at the 13-week meeting. The only exception will be Week 2 when a matinee program will be held Friday, May 1 — Kentucky Oaks Day and eve of the Kentucky Derby.

The Friday night festivities at Hollywood Park will include $1 hot dogs and sodas throughout the program and $1 draft beer from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
