Terraces will become the track’s premier dining destination with a new, contemporary menu that focuses on the use of locally grown, seasonal ingredients. The menu will feature bistro classics with a twist, such as Classic Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese Croutons, Steak Frites and Roasted Free Range Chicken. New menu items will be introduced weekly.
“By shifting our daily dining focus to Terraces, we will be able to offer guests an exciting new menu, while continuing to provide outstanding service,” said ARAMARK District Manager Bill Lohr. ”We look forward to providing guests with a dining environment that enhances their visit to Meadowlands Racetrack.”
“We rightly pride ourselves on the best customer service in the industry, “ stated New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority President & CEO Dennis Robinson, “ and the new Terraces provides a unique entertainment experience for our guests with first class dining, finish line views, and simulcasting from around the world on your table top television.”
Pegasus will be repositioned as a primary, exclusive catering facility for large parties and corporate events. However, the restaurant will continue to be open to the general public, horse owners and media on major event days. Oenophiles need not worry. The restaurant’s extraordinary wine list, which earned Pegasus Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence each year since 2002, will be introduced at Terraces.
“Pegasus already has a strong reputation as one of the New York metropolitan area’s premier destinations for group events,” Lohr said. “We will continue to grow that brand in 2009 by offering private parties a unique space that combines a fine dining experience with the entertainment and excitement of world-class horse racing.”
The repositioning of Terraces and Pegasus restaurants is the first phase of dining renovations planned throughout Meadowlands Racetrack in 2009.
