Turning for home with only one horse behind her, Wild About Marie was swung to the outside by Bridgmohan. Racing in the middle of the course, Wild About Marie surged past the field in the final 100 yards to make amends for a seventh-place finish in this race in 2011.
Wild About Marie is a 5-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Wildcat Heir out of the Valid Wager mare Joyful Wager. The victory was worth $33,900 and improved her bankroll to $328,339 with a record of 21-8-6-0.
Wild About Marie returned $8, $4.80 and $3.20. Smartys Emperoress, ridden by Gabriel Saez, returned $8.60 and $4.80 with Honey Chile finishing a head back in third under Corey Lanerie and paying $3 to show.
Palazzo Babe finished three-quarters of a length back in fourth and was followed in order by Eur O So Bad, Platinum Exchange, Helen Belen and Extravaganza.
