Gross receipts for Thursday’s session totaled $3,442,600, down 48.8 percent from the $6,725,800 posted last year. The session average of $14,404 was down 48.8 percent from $28,141 recorded in 2008, while the median of $8,000 decreased 60 percent from last year’s $20,000. A total of 239 horses were sold both today and in 2008.
Following four days of selling, gross sales totaled $28,978,000, down 53.9 percent from $62,912,300 in 2008. Average was down 52.6 percent from $69,440 to $32,892. The median of $15,000 decreased 50 percent from $30,000 recorded last year.
Eamon Cleary paid the day’s highest price for a broodmare, bidding $75,000 for My Red Porsche, in foal to Istan. The six-year-old Mt. Livermore mare is a half-sister to stakes winner My White Corvette, dam of 2008 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) winner Stardom Bound. She was consigned by Eaton Sales, agent.
