East Rutherford, NJ [Oct. 11, 2008] - Godolphin's Zada Belle repelled challengers on both sides and edged away in the final strides to win the $65,000 Seton Hall University Stakes on Saturday night at the Meadowlands.

Sent off the 3-5 favorite, Zada Belle [$2.80, $2.40, $2.10] bested the persistent Shananie's Song [$7.80, $4.00] by 1 1-2 lengths. With Stewart Elliott up, she stepped the six furlongs in 1:09.12. Princess Janie [$2.40] finished third after making a brief bid on the outside.

"Both times I've ridden her, she just kind of fell out of there [the starting gate]," said Stewart Elliott. "I let her get comfortable. She's very push-button. She's been on the lead [in both starts] because I think she's just been the best. She's classy. I was confident. I knew when I moved my hands, she was going to run on. I was just watching for horses coming from the outside. She was relaxed and content to do whatever I wanted her to do."

Zada Belle improved her record to five wins and one second in eight career starts. She was second in the Honorable Miss Handicap (G2) and won the Bennington before finding herself overmatched by Indian Blessing in the Gallant Bloom {G2) in her start prior at Belmont.
