The winner, owned and trained by Eddie Broome and ridden by Eddie Castro, raced the one mile and 70 yards over a fast main track in 1:44 2/5 and paid $4.80, $3 and $2.20 across the board.
Fortunate Slew, who was off poorly, rallied to gain the place, paying $7.60 and $3.80, and completing a $39.60 exacta. Voluminous was third, three-quarters of a length farther back in the field of seven New Jersey-bred fillies and mares, and returned $3 to show.
This was the second straight victory for Zulmin, a 5-year-old mare by Stormin Fever * Zul, by North Prospect, who was bred by her owner-trainer. She won a similar race here on June 8.
