MORROW COVE DOMINATES IN SERENA’S SONG
OCEANPORT, N.J. – Paul C. Pompa, Jr.’s Morrow Cove dominated six other sophomore fillies as she drew off through the lane to prevail by 4 ¾ lengths in the $75,000 Serena’s Song Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday.
Trained by Todd Pletcher, Morrow Cove covered the 1 mile 70 yards over a fast main track in 1:43:69 and returned $9.80, $3.80 and $3. Odds-on favorite Moment In Dixie rallied from the back of the pack to complete the $24.40 exacta and paid $2.60 and $2.20. It was another three lengths back to Ainsley, who paid $3.60 to show.
