ROSE RUNNERS LOOKING TO SHAKE-UP SATURDAY’S STALLION STAKES
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (July 27, 2012) – While the stakes-proven Two T’s At Two B and the promising Dixie High are likely to attract much of the spotlight in Saturday’s $75,000-estimated Dr. Fager Stakes at Calder Casino & Race Course, longtime local conditioner Barry Rose has two juveniles entered for the race that could fit the role of spoiler in the speedy Cat Five Hurricane and the late-running Joshua’s Comprise.
“The experience of the first race helped, and adding the blinkers helped too,” Rose said of Cat Five Hurricane’s transformation from a lackluster sixth-place finish in his debut to a 4 ¼-length victory in his second career start. “I also thought Jonathan (Gonzales) rode him well. He’s an aggressive rider; I like that in him. I like the way he rides a horse. And I think he fits a horse that runs on the front.”
