Naturally, the turf races have been rescheduled, with only a handful carded for Wednesday. Expect a drying-out wet racetrack but don't be terribly surprised if the surface gets upgraded to fast just in time for the Late Pick 4.
Johnny Velazquez is one winner ahead of Javier Castellano for the most coveted riding title in America: Saratoga's leading rider.
The edge uner most circumstances would go to Velazquez due to his close association with todd Pletcher. But Castellano does a good deal of riding for Pletcher, too, and Todd has fired many winning juvenile debut bullets already, so this figures to be a battle right to the end.
There will be no drama in the trainer category, obviously, but Chad Brown already has more winners than he saddled all last season here. Following closely in his mentor's footsteps, not surprising that a majority of those scores have come on turf.
Long range forecast: Mostly sunny skies through Saturday. Last chance to beat the other couples!

Am finally back from an interesting venture. I observe that the story teller from the west coast is no longer contributing at HRI, and the perfume gentlemen is not providing his rather long commentary that usually flew over my head.
Checking my ADW account, I note that I have not wagered since mid-May; was going to take along the computer, but didn’t. Obviously, as a result, I am flush with cash.
Going back in dates at HRI I notice that many former commentators are not contributing.
Starting tomorrow, I will offer up my cynical comments, which you regular readers will know what is coming.
Play it again Sam: “It’s all about gambling, about cashing tickets. Thoroughbred racing’s attraction is the betting window, not the horse!”
Time for a Schlitz. Oh, thanks to Philly Park for operating today. Will make my first wager since May. Think Drink Me Cute and Jonathan’s Girl got a shot?

Great to see you’re back Mr.Corrow. A whole different group of cheerleaders have taken over the board talking about who knows what. Be prepared for the onslaught of articles about Uncle Mo and Stay Thirsty as Repole has brought them back and the turf writers will need to make them both fashionable in order to keep in good stead.
