Casse colt stakes ‘Claim’ to Marine

TORONTO, May 14 - Miner's Claim will attempt to rediscover his winning form and maintain his perfect Woodbine record in Saturday's Grade 3, $150,000 Marine Stakes.

Historically, the 1 1/16-mile event attracts a mix of Canadian and American-bred three-year-olds. In this year's edition, Giquere and Kesagami will attempt to show their connections they belong in the 1 1/4-mile Queen's Plate on June 22. Miner's Claim, Bonanza, Discreet Commander, Matt's Broken Vow and Mighty Vow take aim at the $90,000 winner's share and graded stakes winner title.

Legal Move looks to lay down the law in New Providence

TORONTO, May 7 * Legal Move takes aim at his third consecutive win in Saturday's $125,000 New Providence Stakes at Woodbine.

Fresh off an impressive score in the Jacques Cartier Stakes on April 26, the son of Bold Executive will benefit from class relief in the New Providence, which is for Ontario-sired runners.

Owned by Woodford Racing and trained by champion Mark Casse, the four-year-old will tussle with 10 rivals in the six-furlong dash, including Bruno Brothers siblings Main Executive and Cool Selection and last year's winner Dave the Knave.
