GOING GULFSTREAM – SEP 4

An entertaining optional allowances on a Sunday in Hallandale that features a strong favorite who is going to be a very tough out. Not a layover by any means but it will takes a herculean upset effort.

Normally, one would expect a stakes competitor such as Collaborate (8-5) to go all out in an allowance effort but the workline suggests otherwise; Saffie Joseph Jr. appears to want a confidence booster for his bay colt.

He’s been working enthusiastically but the important factor is the schedule as he’s been hitting the workout trail every week for close to two months. There is no question he will have the needed bottom.

In case you’re unfamiliar with him, check out his run in the Sir Shackleton on APR 2, Gulfstream Park, Race 10, a game placing to the class tested Weyburn.

And don’t let the 155-day layup dissuade you, as his last win came off a 161-day break.

We’re taking Collaborate to win, no price restrictions, quinellas and exactas with the always competitive Gatsby (3-1) Fausto Gutierrez’s very sharp No Que No (9-2).
