By Marc Lawrence — With the final hurdles cleared for a 2020 MLB season, the likes of which we’ve never seen before, ESPN’s baseball writers, reporters and editors submitted their best guesses as to what we’ll witness during this abbreviated campaign. What teams and players are best suited for the shortened season? And who will struggle? Which is the team to beat? And who will be the 60-game MVPs? Here’s what their experts had to say … The one team that could struggle the most during a 60-game schedule: Washington Nationals, who not only started slowly last season, but if repeated would be a bigger problem with Anthony Rendon gone and the pitching depth, particularly in the bullpen, a concern … The one player that could thrive under the 2020 format: Shohei Ohtano, who should be able pitch out of the rotation when the season begins in late July, and he also will be DH’ing on most of the days when he isn’t the starting pitcher. Per Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel, Milwaukee has the NBA’s best record, and one of the reasons the Bucks hold that distinction is that Milwaukee was 22-0 against the eight trams that failed to qualify for the Disney restart. Oklahoma City was 15-0 and the LA Lakers were 12-0. Toronto and Boston were both 19-1 and Utah was 15-1. Only one remaining team had an overall losing record against those eight clubs. San Antonio went 7-8.

2020 PLAYBOOK Football Preview Guide magazine reports: New New England QB Cam Newton is 71-59-1 SU and 71-58-2 ATS as a starter in the NFL, but only 1-7 SU and 0-8 ATS in his last eight starts. Newton is also 7-1 SU in his career starts against AFC East opponents, winning his last seven in a row.
