Doing something a bit different with today’s ‘Going Gulfstream’ Video in that we’ll show the horse we fear most, not the one we are likely to bet on. Check out Gulfstream Park, OCT 1, Race 7 on the HRI homepage.
Five year old Lookinlikeaqueen (3-1) may have found her niche on the All-Weather surface. She won her Tapeta debut here in her first try over the surface and overcame some trouble to do so, as you will see.
We like that trainer Jose Garroffalo raises her confidently in class and have been a fan of Samy Camacho since he elevated his game last year at Tampa Bay Downs.
There is a racetrack cliche that the place you lose it is the place you get it back. When multiple AW winner Midnight Bella (9-2) shipped in for her return to a synthetic track, we thought she was well meant. After betting and watching the race, we think not so much.
But, now, with at race over Tapeta, trainer Gerald Brooks, something of an All-Weather specialist himself, winning with 21% of his synth starters from a sizable sample.
The fact that he comes back with her in six days, drops to a prior winning level, and with Jermaine Bridgmohan taking a return call, it certainly appears that today is the day.
Taking Midnight Bella to win at 7-2 or greater and a quinella with Lookinlikeaqueen.
