THERE ARE SEVERAL HOBBY ACTIVITIES THAT HORSE RACING FANS WOULD LOVE

By HRI Foreign Staff — Horse racing fans love the feel of a race meet and enjoy the excitement once the race gets under way and it’s time to watch the horses they have backed. This is an old and traditional sport that is about much more than the race – it is often about partying and enjoying each other’s company, watching the sport together, studying the form and even dressing up. In the UK, for example, lots of horse meets have dress codes and people are encouraged to put on their finery and have an amazing time together.

There are plenty of other hobbies horse racing lovers will enjoy, such as playing games at an online casino or even other equestrian sports. We explore some of these pastimes below.

Casino gambling

If you are looking for another opportunity to get a bit of a thrill out of your hobbies, then a casino could be ideal. Online casino games give people the chance to play at any time, too, so there is always the opportunity to log in on your phone and start playing.

If you still prefer to visit in person, there may be a lot of similarities with the horse racing industry. A trip to the casino will be an opportunity to get dressed up and to enjoy a night out, as well as getting the same sort of thrill that you get from watching horse racing.

If you head to a casino, either virtually or in person, you can choose between a variety of different games and pick which is best for you, whether you prefer to play some slot games or a game of skill like blackjack or poker where you will have more input.

Other equestrian sports

There are a lot of other equestrian sports out there. Just like there are loads of horse racing tracks across the US, you can also find some examples of people participating in dressage, three-day eventing and show jumping events, such as those that you will see in the Olympics.

The US equestrian foundation is a great place to find some information about dressage as well as other horse-related events. A lot of the people who are into horse racing are there because they enjoy watching these amazing animals do their thing. It could be that horses are your main interest, and as well as watching them race, you could get involved in other equestrian sports and even get the chance to be involved in the care of horses.

Other thrilling sports

Other forms of racing are an obvious choice for those who already love horse racing. As well as motor racing sports like Formula One, you may enjoy watching some of the other racing sports such as greyhound racing, which is similar to horse racing but usually with fewer animals racing. A greyhound track can be a similar experience to going to see the horse racing meets, so if you would like to have the same sort of thrilling experience then this could be a good option.

It doesn’t have to be a racing sport, though. Lots of people who enjoy horse racing get plenty out of watching other sports, from pool through to football, basketball and more. Horse racing might be your number one but watching other sports that have similar skill and fun levels may also be a great pastime.

Memorabilia

A number of people who love horse racing also love everything that goes with it, and this can include memorabilia. In fact, there are many different kinds of memorabilia you can buy, including souvenirs from race meets all over the world and throughout the entire history of horse racing.

Racing has been a part of culture for so long that there are many different ways in which you can collect and there are even horse racing pieces that are over 100 years old being sold at auction. Some people go deep into the rabbit hole with this kind of memorabilia.

Summary

Everyone is slightly different, so there are hundreds of hobbies that could be a potential match. The truth is that a lot of people who like horse racing are either interested in these majestic animals or they love the sort of thrill you can get out of going to the horse meet, studying the form, placing a bet and even potentially getting a win as a result.

There are a lot of other sports relating to horses, and activities that can give people the same sort of thrill that they would get at a race meet, as well as other sports and games.
