By Marc Lawrence — Since 2000, the SEC is acknowledged as the preeminent conference in all of college football. And rightfully so, may we add.
For as Cervantes said in Don Quixote, the proof is in the pudding.
That’s because the SEC owns the best accumulative record in bowl games (72-44), in College Football Playoff games (11-4), and in College Football Championship games (4-3).
The other four Power Five conferences are 167-187 combined in bowl contests, and just 10-16 collectively in the College football Playoff – thanks in no part to the Big 12’s miserable 0-4 mark.
Hail the SEC. It’s as Southern as banana pudding.
