OMAHA BEACH DELAY AGAIN

HRI EDITED RELEASE-– Omaha Beach will bypass Saturday’s G3 Ack Ack mile at Churchill Downs and will remain in California to race in the Santa Anita Sprint, October 5.

Fox Hill Farm’s Grade I winner Omaha Beach will stay home, according to Hall of Fame trainer Richard Mandella.

“His workout yesterday got very messed up and I needed that to be good in order to run him next week in Kentucky,” Mandella said via text. “I decided to stay here and just run him Oct. 5.

  1. This is becoming a joke. Instead of reporting which race Omaha Beach will run in next, it should be which race that Mandella says he is pointing for will he skip.

Mandella is not only a gifted trainer, he is skilled at managing a horse’s career. He won Eclipses with Beholder without her ever winning a race outside California. It appears he is employing a similar strategy with Omaha Beach.
