BALTIMORE over KC by 8
It’s not that we like taking potshots, but the Chiefs have employed
in recent years the dynamic duo of Tyreek Hill, who beats up his
family, and Kareem Hunt, who beats up women and is currently on
the suspended list with the Browns.
To paraphrase Deadspin.com… In a lot of ways the Chiefs take on the dangers of ‘smoking’ – they’re dangerous to children and pregnant women. And is there a more violent douchebag than Hill, who’s broken more arms than Tommy John. So how we really feel about the makeup of this team?
As long as Roger Goodell continues to turn a blind eye to player conduct
and Vegas puts a line on their games, we’ll continue to handicap the
games as they are scheduled.
Meanwhile, if there is one team in the loop that has the firepower to go toe-to-toe with the Chiefs (who have scored an NFL record 25-plus points in 22 straight games) it’s the Black Birds, a team outgaining its opposition to the tune of +267 net YPG while averaging a league-best 41 PPG.
The Ravens are also the No. 2 ranked team in overall defense after having led the league in scoring defense throughout the preseason (8.8 PPG). They enter Arrowhead with revenge on their minds from a 27-24 loss here last
season.
And we still can’t get past the point that the Chiefs are 69-
36 SU the last six-plus seasons but only 48-57 ‘In The Stats’ in those
contests.
Couple Andy Reid’s rotten 7-14 ATS career mark against teams from the AFC North, including 2-9 ATS versus those coming off a win, with John Harbaugh’s stellar 7-2 ATS career record as a dog in September, including 4-0 ATS when coming off a win, and we’re set to snap the rubber band. And we didn’t even mention Harbaugh’s 16-7-1 ATS career mark in the NFL on the road when seeking revenge, including 7-0-1 ATS the last eight.
To top it off, here is THE CLINCHER: the visiting team is 9-1 ATS in Lamar Jackson starts in the NFL.
