By Marc Lawrence — ESPN reports, heading into last night game with the Pelicans in New Orleans, LeBron James scored a season-high 40 points on Tuesday in the Lakers’ win over the Pelicans. Los Angeles is 18-0 this season when James scores 30 points or more. It appears as if better defending the King should be a priority in each opponent’s arsenal should they wish to overtake the throne. |

Grinding Out The Profits |
Beware of the Iz. Michigan State was projected the No. 1 team in the nation at the start of the season. Nine losses later they barely crack the Top 20, although standing No. 7 in the current NET Rankings – the highest of all Big Team teams. More importantly they rank in the Top Ten in the nation in Defensive Field Goal Percentage, Rebound Margin and Assist To Turnover Ratio – the only team in the land to do so. At 15-1, they are worth a strong look to cut down the nets in Atlanta in April. FYI, as we point out in the Playbook Basketball Newsletter: Tom Izzo is 36-21-2 ATS with same season conference revenge from Game 20 out. Remember that when the Spartans invade Penn State tomorrow night. |
