News Report: Aidan O’Brien’s Magical is out of the Breeders’ Cup, reported to the ‘Racing Post’, the respected European journal.
The 4-year-old mare spiked a temperature, didn’t travel to Santa Anita Park, and will be retired to begin her career as a broodmare.
“She has been an unbelievable mare,” trainer O’Brien told Racing Post. “She was so game, so consistent and so classy.”
Magical went out at the top of her game, beating males in Ascot’s GR 1 Champion Stakes two weeks ago.
