BROWER IN THE BIKE-APR 15

By Dave Brower, Meadowlands Handicapper — Early Double Analysis — Friday, April 14, 2022

Race 1

1              SUNSHINE’S FINEST – Gets some much-needed post relief, but hasn’t had a whole lot of luck lately since that win. Maybe that can change tonight? He might also need a drop from the “GSY2” to the “GSY1.” I will wait.

2              BRAZEN BRAZILIAN – Didn’t make much of an impact in first GSY try last week. Also gets a better post tonight, so that should have him closer. He has faced some better horses in the past. Time to step it up here.

3              LINDYTHEFOURTEENTH – Looks like he’s rounded into better form lately, but I have no idea how to compare that series at Freehold to this here at Club Med. Has also been benefitting from good posts and trips. Your call, folks?

4              SEEUINNASHVILLE A – Like a few of these, it’s been a LONG time since he won a race. That makes him tough to put near the top spot. Recent claim has been a little buried, so this should be considered a drop. Plus, Joe Lee on!

5              VINOVIO – Another Freehold invader. But to me, this seems like a step up. I need to see a good one here first.

6              ORILLIA JOE – Joe P back with one of his 12YO veterans. Not really sure if this horse can still hack it on the big track, but I guess we’ll find out tonight. The post probably won’t help. Horse isn’t exactly a “speed demon.” Needs a trip.

7              CAMWOOD – Outraced his odds upon arrival, so that’s not bad. But, with the most to an outer post now, let’s keep him on the longshot list. Will need to get lucky to hit the ticket again.

8              CHEYENNE RYAN LEE – The two “powers” are stuck outside here, so that should make things interesting. The trip just didn’t work out from post 10 last week, but don’t hold that against him. IF he can make front here, watch out.

9              TUXEDO BAY – Tux just ran into a buzzsaw last week, and proved no match. It might be the same thing here. Plus, now the post is bad again. That will test out Mr. Silva. Speed is usually the weapon, but this will not be easy from out here.

Race 2

1              ROCKABILLY CHARM – The trips just haven’t been working out for Billy lately. That can always change, especially from the pole post like this. I do believe he’s still deceptively sharp. So, if the price is right, don’t be afraid to use. DM off.

2              MACINTOSH N – 13YO warhorse is back for another big track try. And Shaun V listed Dexter, so that’s sign of positive intent. It’s a slight drop. I’m not on board, but I guess I would not be shocked if he jumped up and beat me.

3              TOLLY-HO – He hasn’t had a lot of luck lately either. Plus, he was way overbet last time. This is slightly smaller field, so that should keep him closer. But, one big move still needed to win one of these. I don’t want underlay in race like this.

4              EMBLAZE HANOVER – I kind of like this spot for him. Was in a race with some good ones last time, and a stablemate that Yannick chose. So, Dave gets to keep the drive on the drop. Just needs a bit more stamina to finish it off.

5              YANKEE OSBORNE – Had that needed first start back off the layoff. Scotty D shows up here with him now, which tells me a lot. I’m sure this is a “work in progress” on comeback trail, but IF he’s ready, he can beat these. Watch out.

6              ANA MALAK N – Continues his plummet down the class ladder and eventually will find some better gears. I’m not sure this is the spot, but I will be watching closely for future evaluation. I’m not in love with this post for him too!

7              WHAT’S YOUR BEEF – He hasn’t won a race in a couple of years, so that never inspires confidence. It’s another outside post. It’s a field of dropdowns and he’s one of them. Not sure I can get too excited tonight.
