By Marc Lawrence — You can put the Cardinals on the list of most improved teams in the NFL this season. We can’t, however, put the Rams on the same list. The reason being is L.A.’s defense has turned from where it was last year as the league’s No. 1 unit, into an enlarged prostate, swelling all the way up to the league’s No. 20 stop-unit this year.
The -81 net yardage loss in DYPG, coupled with an anticipated letdown after knocking off the Tom Brady-led Super Bowl champs last week, sets the table for this call today. Besides, Arizona just happens to bring the league’s No. 3 overall ranked offense, along with the No. 2 defense, into this contest. Thus, with all the exposure the Rams are gathering in this season, it’s the Cardinals who aren’t. We’ll see about that on Sunday.
