GOING GULFSTREAM – JULY 16

Sometimes, horseplayers must play the hand they are dealt. And no truism could be more apt when analyzing at today’s sixth for optional preliminary allowance types going 5-1/5 furlongs on Tapeta Track.

It appears that Time Passage (6-1) may have found a new home on Gulfstream’s All-Weather strip.

Certainly the promise is there with this lightly raced filly compiling a win and exacta finish in three runs on the AW.

Splits of 21.60 and 44.60, no matter how glib the surface, are almost impossible to withstand, especially when pressured throughout, the case on June 17.

That run was her first in nearly six weeks and she rated to tire, which she did. The expectation is that she will resort to the stalking tactics used in winning her AW debut.

Add class relief and Zayas taking a return call to the equation can yield a positive outcome at more than fair odds.

Taking Time Passage to win at 4-1 or greater and key-boxing exactas with Li Li Bear (3-1) and Accomplished Girl (8-5).
