A competitive secondary allowances/optional claimer going a mile on the Laurel turf course highlights Saturday’s card, and an interesting group it is.
At first glance, the improving Outofthepark (7-2) appears the one to beat off his return effort as a first-time four-year-old but today’s promise of firmer ground, the mini-turn-back and class rise could compromise his form. That’s our best guesstimate.
So, we will key in on second choice Taxable Goods (4-1). The gelded five-year-old makes his season’s debut after having been competitive with better last year and he’s been training months for this. Versatility is a big part of his arsenal.
An example of that would be from last year at this same meet when he was saddled with an outside post, was too keen, fighting his rider, yet still managed to score. Check out the Laurel Park Live Video from JUNE 30, 2019, RACE 6.
Lynn Ashby has excellent numbers going dirt to turf and taps turf ace Forest Boyce for the riding assignment. We’re taking Taxable Goods to win at 3-1 or thereabouts and will box an exacta with Outofthepark.

Nothing better than reading Pricci’s take on Saturdays before visiting the AWD firing line.
