The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

There are three horses that are easy spot as likely winners in today’s seventh race, a complex condition race going 1-1/16 miles on turf. It’s easy to understand why they are worthy of their early line odds.

Abaan (8-5) made his reputation here in stakes company last winter and was freshened this fall to prepare for another GP assault for the Pletcher/Saez team.

Yes This Time (3-1) looks similar, as he’s fresh, four of his six wins have come in Hallandale and he likes the trip. The Breen/Paco pair are 25% when they hook up.

However, we’ll take the value offered on Eyes On Target (4-1), who has improved off the Maker claim, as most turf runners do for this outfit.

‘Eyes’ jammed up at Keeneland in his return from a brief freshening but finished gamely after shaking clear and ships into GP where he’s 1-for-1. Check it: KEENELAND, OCT 21, Race 5.

Samy Camacho is down from Tampa for the assignment and the speed signed on should suit him very well. We’re also enamored of price shot Grand Journey (12-1), one of two Saffie Joseph’s in here, claimed last out for a return to his favorite venue.

Betting Eyes on Target to win at 4-1 or greater and key-boxing exactas with the rivals listed above.
