The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

Alas, stakes handicappers do not live exclusively on three year olds and the Hallandale oval plays hosts to a top filly event, the G3 Royal Delta.

Clearly, Kathleen O (7-5) is a deserving favorite by virtue of the face she’s undefeated in South Florida, roaring through Gulfstream’s three-year-old series last year. She finishes off her races whatever the pace scenario.

But this will be her first start since late November whereas he main rival, Classic Edition (8-5) is coming off a sharp open-lengths score at Gulfstream Park on JAN 11, Race 7.

She won it well; check the video section on the homepage to see if you agree. She’s handier than the favorite and gave her a scare in last year’s Davona Dale here.

Based on recency and a better post tactically, we will shade Classic Edition to win at early line odds or greater and must use graded stakes winner Midnight Stroll (6-1) and sharp Tampa shipper Tap Dance Fever (5-1) to fill out the trifecta.
