By Marc Lawrence, PlaybookSports.com — It’s nice watching NFL games over scrambled eggs and coffee on Sunday mornings. I realize it’s a pure money grab for the league, but as we’ve come to realize, there is nothing they do these days that isn’t. What I really enjoyed, though, was watching the German crowd in Frankfurt standing on their feet, singing the ‘Bavarian classic,’ “Country Roads” by John Denver, a tradition they started last year when the first game ever in its country was played in Munich. Goosebumps. It was also nice to hear referee Clay Martin call the first penalty of the game in German – a false start against Miami WR Chase Claypool – when he said, “Fehlstart,” before continuing in English. “Offense, number 83. Five-yard penalty. Third down.” That was neat, too.
