BROWER IN THE BIKE-SAT

by Dave Brower, Meadowlands Handicapper – Saturday, October 31, 2020

Race 1

1              FRANCO TRISTAN N – Burned a little bit of money up at the Ridge last time, but also had an improved effort here before that. He fits this group perfectly and gets a key inside post. I certainly wouldn’t talk you off with Nap.

2              SANATTLE SLEW – Enters with his 1-67 record over the past two seasons. Isn’t that enough said? Pass.

3              MCBOOGITTY – He’s only 1-19, but invades from Pocono off three straight solid tries. That makes him look a lot better than most. I don’t know if I’ll use on top, but I will definitely put in the underneath spots. Nice post. Good brush. Trainer: Tough horse! Should enjoy switching to the mile track. Expect him to be close.

4              INTERNET HANOVER – Not exactly leaping off the page at moment. Not a lot of races last few years. I guess I’d need to see a good one here, before I could endorse.

5              DEALER’S TABLE – Went off at a very short price last time and still failed after the hot pace. With an additional class drop, I see the bettors piling on again. I imagine even his maybe top effort would just crush these. Barn still hot.

6              TOM’S AROCKIN – His last qualifier was somewhat better. There is some back class here, but I do wonder what happened. He drew outside the big favorite. This will be no easy task to overcome. Demand fair price, if you like.

7              P L LEEROY – Still the biggest longshot in the field and very hard to recommend. Pass until further notice.

8              THE MOONSHADOW N – Really don’t know what to do with this guy. Yes, his last was a slightly improved effort, but he’s got no speed, an outside post, and a long road just to get into the game. Needs a huge return to form.

9              MRS BROWNS BOY – Gave it a pretty good try last week, so consider that. Yes, the post tonight stinks, but he flashed some speed. Also seeking to snap a pretty long skid. Hoping the favorite comes up vulnerable for some reason.

10           GRIFFON HANOVER – Ordinarily, this would be decent spot for trainer celebrating a birthday this week. But, it’s post 10 for second straight start. That’s almost not fair! Good luck getting a trip from way out here.

Race 2

1              MAY I CRUISE WEST – Took a ton of tote action again last time at Freehold and that looks like an impossible trip. Back to Big M, where he actually won a race a few weeks ago. Decent chance, from good post, in wide open race.

2              GO SUE ME – Been just fair of late down at The Hold. I would have a tough time making a strong case for success.

3              ANDWIN HANOVER – He’s not exactly one of my favorites, either. Just never wins! Still a big price longshot tonight.

4              IDEAL TYSON A – Showed up here last time and turned in a decent effort. It was couple weeks ago, so I guess he just didn’t get back in. Would love to see him get a smoother journey and maybe he has check chances again.

5              GRANDPA DON – Finally gets a little break from the post gods! His kick last few has been strong, so it’s all about pace and trip again. I can see some pace in here, because most of the power is stuck outside. Likes to win occasionally.

6              ROCKAHOLIC – Invades with a lot to prove here, even in field like this. I still have to prefer others for now.

7              VICTORYDAZE WILWIN – In a field like this, he has a shot too! Raced back into shape nicely and now finds his way to the big track again. We know he can kick home willingly, when in good form. He appears to be in good form.

8              THUNDER DOME – Bouncing up and down the class ladder. Beat a field like this earlier in the month, but he will have to get up and go from this post. That’s the hard part. Demand fair price if you think he can do it.

9              MARVALOUS ONE – Finally put it all together last time, and the trip worked out nicely. But, I will say the price will be short again, and the post will make it tougher. I’m not totally convinced he can overcome that. Your call, folks?

10           OUR ART AND HEAVEN – Another that can probably win, but will have to get very lucky to overcome the post. That’s T Mac’s job, but it will be no cakewalk! Gelding hoping to snap a pretty long skid too! Don’t know what to do.
