Race 1 |
1 LASA DIDA LADY – Did a lot of grinding last week, only to tire late stages. That wasn’t a terrible effort, so overall, she might be back in somewhat better form. Has beaten this level before. Not totally out of it from the rail.
2 FASHIONWOODCHOPPER – He’s simply found this level a tad too much lately. Still a longshot, until he drops.
3 CLASSIC VENTURE – 0-2 since arriving. Hasn’t shown me enough to make me endorse. Will have to find the right level and turn in an improved performance. I have to see it first.
4 FOR A DREAMER – Just doesn’t win all that often, but the barn has been red hot of late. That demands an extra look. There are no killers in here, and the early faves are stuck outside. We’re going to see speed. Maybe a use?
5 IF NOT WHY NOT – He’s been here before, but it seems like a while ago. Didn’t really belong in that Yonkers race. This should be more like it. One of the longshot possibilities in a pretty wide-open race. Likes to win too!
6 BIZET – Dropped to this level last time and should have produced a better effort. Week off after that. Owns a win here this year and not too many of these can say that. Midpack post gives options. Usually best as a one-run closer.
7 JENNY LAKE – Interesting shipper from NY. She’s raced pretty well on big-size track. I see speed. I see our Driver of the Week aboard. I’d be willing to toss Jenny onto the ticket, if the price was right. Let’s expect a full send.
8 LIFETIME ROYALTY – It’s a bit tough to get a full read on his form right now. Last two were good. Had a few good ones a while back. My knock is the lack of speed, coupled with outside post. That is not ideal! Will need a trip.
9 EYE OFA TIGER AS – Easily the key to the race! I figure he’ll either blow this field away, or make another break. First time Nap, and a double class drop. IF he can get to the lead, that might be it. Your choice, folks?

Race 2
1 GOOD ROCKIN – Finds his way back to the scene of his one and only win this year. But, boy that Ohio form looks questionable. He usually looks a little rough out on the track, so I probably want to see one again.
2 MOUNTAIN HIGH – I was hoping for a little bit more in his Big M debut. But, he took no money and now gets the drop to the bottom class level. Maybe that’s the answer? Nap takes the call again. Let’s expect more effort.
3 GRAVE DANCER – Down from Monti for a big track try and I wonder why? This spot looks a little too tough. Pass.
4 WORLD ON EDGE – His recent form is downright dull, but he still got bet off the board last time. Maybe because the barn is so hot? I’m not ready to hop on board until I see more. But a sudden wakeup call wouldn’t shock me.
5 SANATTLE SLEW – Ended up racing here last week, instead of Yonkers and it was a good call! Hit the board at almost 100-1. Draws midpack post, in wide open race. Will need a trip, but it’s not out of the question.
6 WILLIE BOOTS – Willie has picked up three straight checks, so that’s a good thing! In an impossible race like this, maybe he can get even closer? It’s usually all about the trip for him and I just don’t see a lot of speed in here.
7 SPICEBOMB – I’m a little weary of chasing the Bomb this year. He should have turned the corner and gotten a win by now. Can’t get any lower in class than this, so it’s time to show us more. Most times, I have to see it first. Tough call.
8 GOTTA GO B B – Up from Delaware and into a new barn. In a race like this, you have to invent some reason to like any of these. Why not this guy? He does own a turn of speed. I’d like to see it early.
9 BANK SEA – The Bank is clearly the sharpest horse in this race. But, he does have post nine and early speed usually isn’t his best weapon. Still, he’s hard to ignore after those last two good tries. Eric A will get him in position.
10 MITTNAGE A TROIS – Another speed-lacker. Post 10. Probably enough said. I will pass from way out here.
