Undefeated horses are always intriguing and attract lots of attention, especially in the parimutuel pools.
Such is the case in Thursday’s sprint feature for three-year-olds and up going six furlongs. See Bull Shark, the 8-5 early line favorite making his first start this season coming off a 382 layoff.
We see him but, parimutuelly speaking, we’re more attracted to third choice Day The Music Died at 4-1, although he likely will be shorter than that at post time.
Since January, handicappers will not ignore the fact that he’s improved dramatically, moving up big time under the care of Mario Serey Jr.
After entering that shedrow, he immediately won two straight, one fast and one wet track and while he has not repeated since, he’s been very competitive while moving up vs. tougher rivals.
Today he returns to preliminary allowances after meeting a field of hard hitters vs. optional claiming/allowances, earning a lifetime best Thoro-Graph figures.
In fact, he’s moved forward on the TG scale in every start for Serey and today returns with good spacing, 33 days, and Serey is 22% effective when teamed up with Yomar Ortiz.
Hence we’ll take Day The Music Died straight at 3-1 or greater, box an exacta with Bull Shark, and will add Popizar (7-2) and Air On Fire (9-2) to the super-exotics mix.
