The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

Trainer Doug O’Neill has been suspended 60 days, fined $10,000, and put on probation for one year stemming from a lidocaine positive, a class 2 violation, by his starter Worse Read Sanchez (Square Eddie) at Golden Gate Fields on May 1.

Thirty days have been stayed for “good cause,” according to the California Horse Racing Board ruling. The suspension will begin NOV 21 and extend through DEC 20.
