BROWER IN THE BIKE – JULY 7

By Dave Brower, Meadowlands Handicapper — Early Double Analysis — July 7, 2022

Race 1

1             FOX VALLEY ADELE – Couldn’t possible have been more impressive for Team Miller in her debut. That was a really sharp effort, and a very strong sprint home. Do you think she can steal away from #7? Don’t be shocked if she does.

2             CANADIAN BALLET – Did a fairly good job of chasing #1 in round one. Not bad. A very good start to her career. Gets another good post, so will hope for the same kind of trip. Don’t be surprised if she starts getting better and faster.

3             DEVILISH DREAMS – Really made #7 work to win it in leg one. The effort caught my eye. Can’t fault the way she’s been brought along by Noel D, who’s is coming off a good week. This will be interesting test, in VERY good division.

4             YS SENSATIONALCITY – Retains longshot status, after a no chance trip from the worst post. Yes, the post is better, but she will have to step up her game substantially to threaten these.

5             ALEXA’S FANTASY – Would be tough to build a strong case for success here tonight. She doesn’t seem to pack any early speed yet, and there are some very good fillies in here. Let’s watch one more.

6             LISA LANE – Might be the one of the keys to the race! Why? Because Patrick had the guts to take a shot and send her in round one. She almost stole it, but the effort was still good. Why not send again? Expect it. Makes for pace battle.

7             UCANDOIT BLUE CHIP – None of us really thought she could lose in round one. She got the job done, and did it in style. But, she’s likely already in the final. She has the outside post. Her “education” will continue from off the pace.

Race 2

1             WALL OF BLUE – Really had no chance against that winner last time. But, do note that she raced very well. This is the “weaker” division of leg two, so she needs to step up here and show her class. The pole will keep her close, if not lead.

2             ANNA’S WISH – Had a decent baby race. Then a not-bad first go around, with a pretty tough trip. So, I do think there might be more in the tank here. If she just gets to follow #1, that would be ideal journey. Nice price play?

3             SHOWMEMAGIC – Have to give her a pass for the round one effort out of the terrible post. This is a lot better! She has shown speed already, so that should give pilot options. Don’t be surprised if she shows up with good effort here.

4             MAKE SWEET MAGIC – Definitely a work in progress for Team Drennan. But, she also raced okay in chase of that uncatchable winner last time. It was a step in the right direction for her. Is there more coming? Very good question.

5             TWIN B HIGH TECH – I think I’ll keep her on the longshot list for now. I don’t see her leaving the gate, so that could put her at a big disadvantage in this short field. I need to see more before I could endorse.

6             GET ANSWERS – Gets slammed with another outer post. That’s almost not fair, but it is what it is. Likely to tow around there at back of the pace and try to keep up. Would be a big surprise.

DRIVER CHOICES:

Dave Miller 3 over 2
