BROWER IN THE BIKE – MAR 18

By Dave Brower, Meadowlands Handicapper – Early Double Analysis – Friday, March 18, 2022

Race 1

1              S MCKEE – He’s back to pretty good form, no doubt about that. So, he inherits the role as tepid morning line favorite in another wide-open GSY race. The pole should be a plus, and Juan will have options. Might see more speed tonight.

2              FINAL JUSTICE – Did not make much of an impact when last seen here. To me, this is pretty big step up. I’ll pass.

3              TAKEITTOTHEFACE – Seemed like Dave had his gelding perfectly positioned in the flow last week and unfortunately, they just flattened out come crunch time. Will have to find a much bigger kick than that, to get home all the money.

4              THEREISAPACEFORUS – From the slightly better post last week, I thought he might have a little more go. He did not. So, I now need to see more from him before I could consider again. Your call, folks?

5              DOCTOR BUTCH – The good Doctor will get a new driver tonight, since Dave Y has to drive his own. The Doc did good work two weeks ago, saving ground and sneaking up the pylons. The midpack post should be okay too! Needs a trip.

6              DREAM OUT LOUD N – Endured another really tough trip last week. Eventually, they catch up to you. So, I’m now on the fence whether to use him or not. IF the price is low, I might try and swing against. It’s a very tough call.

7              MASTER CONRAD – No, I don’t know why he broke last week. It was pretty disappointing, considering the 7/2 odds. So, do you come back and try again? That’s a very good question. And, you will have to make your own decision.

8              WAIMAC ATTACK N – I know he hasn’t won yet this year, but his form sure looks a lot better than most of the others. After the re-acclimating mile back here at Club Med, he’s the one to play in here. Matty Z will get him into the flow.

9              GOOD DAY MATE – Kind of just went around there from the second tier upon return. This post is a killer. Pass.

10           BIG BAD BILL – Bad Bill also loses his post help. I just don’t see how he gets into the fray. Do you? Good luck!

Race 2

1              CRAZY FOR CJ – Gets some much-needed post relief for his second local start. Sometimes it takes a race around here. His trip last week wasn’t very good, either. I’d be willing to give him another chance at the right price. Tough race! Trainer: Raced okay last week with a tough trip. Hope the post relief helps.

2              DS MRMEANER – Up the Turnpike from Freehold. Some can handle it. Some can’t. This guy’s been okay down there, so I guess I’d just like to watch one here first. To see if he can go fast enough. Not sure about that.

3              PRESIDENT – Tough beat if you had him last week. He simply got outmuscled for the money. But, it was still a very credible effort, and Corey sure put a nice trip on him. Can’t argue with any of that. Likely to be aggressive again.

4              P L OSCAR – Let’s give him the tepid morning line status on the winning streak. Picks up DM too! Still has to prove he can handle a big track, but I’m expecting he will. Barn wouldn’t bring him here, if they though otherwise.

5              TRENTS A LOCK – Trent turned in a pretty good effort last week too! Brett B put him in a good spot and horse responded willingly. That was a good second-start improvement here. Is there more coming? I sure wish I knew.

6              SKYWAY JAGUAR – That was no easy trip he had to go through last week. Grinding up against the front-running winner. So, we can give him a pass for that. The price might even be a little better tonight. I could toss onto ticket.

7              HALLIAMA – Alek really had no choice from that post last time, but Halli was VERY good! Trotted up a storm in the final eighth. So, if you think there will be some pace in here, go ahead and play. You might even get a fair price.

8              TIME OUTA JAIL – Troy B did a good job of ground-saving last week, but the 11YO just didn’t have the needed pop late. Trust me, it’s going to be a lot tougher from post eight tonight. Back to longshot status.
