The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

By Marc Lawrence,

• The Rams will be the “road” team in this Super Bowl. They’ll use the visiting locker rooms, they’ll call the coin toss, and they’ll wear their white jerseys, because the Bengals chose to wear their standard black home threads.

• Cincinnati was a 125-to-1 shot to reach the Super Bowl in the preseason. They won four games last year, but won 10 and the AFC North title in the regular season, then three more in the playoffs, including their first ever road postseason wins.

• Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow would become the first QB ever to win a Heisman Trophy, college football’s National Championship, and the Super Bowl in his career. And he’d do it in the span of just three years.
