The New York State Gaming Commission meets Monday, July 22, and the first item up for adoption is the new Pick Six Jackpot Wager for Thoroughbred Racing, aka The Empire 6. Expect the New York Racing Association to end the current $2 Pick 6 with a mandatory payout Sunday July 21, and The Empire 6 to take its place at Saratoga Race Course on Wednesday July 24, with a 50-cent minimum bet.
NYRA already announced its intention to make this switch at Saratoga, but did not reply today for a request to comment. Expect NYRA to issue a statement regarding such soon.
