The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

According to CBS Sports, after eight weeks of crowning the Patriots, New England now goes into its bye with a loss on the schedule, having fallen to the Ravens 37-20 in Baltimore. That probably won’t change the AFC East, but it at least opens up a little drama for the Patriots, who now have to play two more physical running teams after their break in the Eagles and Cowboys. Meanwhile things are starting to separate themselves in terms of the haves, the have-nots and the would-be contenders. See who they’ve got in, and out, of the NFL Playoffs at the halfway point of this campaign …

2-Minute NFL Handicap

Tennessee: 2-9 $ home off home … Tampa Bay: 1-6 $ off away vs. foe off home … Giants: 12-0 $ off division home game vs. non-division … Green Bay: 1-8 $ with .500-plus record off non-division vs. foe off home game … Detroit: 11-1 $ vs. sub .500 foes … Miami: 8-1 $ as visitor vs. Colts.

Grinding Out The Profits

The low-flying Falcons find themselves in a great spot today given their 24-10 ATS record as a visitor at New Orleans. In addition, the Saints are just 3-12 ATS as double-digit home chalk in division games. This looks like an ideal role for N’Awlins to play down to Atlanta’s level. So noted.
