The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

Interesting to note that in the first race of the new year for three-year-olds has drawn a field of eight going a flat mile in the Mucho Macho Man that half of them have a license to get the Derby season off to a fast start. Whoever wins this much will be learned.

First World War (7-2) was too keen in his Churchill finale, was wrangled back into chase mode, ad placed gamely despite a protracted stretch battle.

We liked the way Inveigled (9-5) made the most of an educational journey as he stalked the speed, rallied between horses and drew off late beneath re-riding Irad, showing class and professionalism.

Otello (3-1) not only earned an excellent Thoro-Graph figure in debut but overcame trouble doing so, forced to angle inside for room after knifing his way between rivals, showing a good turn of foot thereafter under similar one-turn mile circumstances.

But we’ll take the value offered on No More Time (6-1) who broke maiden under today’s conditions and over this surface, demonstrating effortless turn of foot to take command approaching headstretch before drawing out in hand without urging.

Given time awaiting this, Jose D’Angelo turns the reins over to Jose Ortiz, a 23% partnership.

Betting No More Time to win at 4-1 or greater and key-boxing exotics first and second with his rivals above.
