The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

The featured event in Hallandale, Race 8, is a interesting one, an optional claiming allowances at the preliminary level going 1 mile 70 yards on the newly installed Tapeta Track. For All Quality, the homecoming continues in more way than one.

Returning to the Casse barn two starts back, the 5-year-old mare moved forward and held that form for start 2, a video worth looking at: GULFSTREAM PARK, SEP 4, Race 3, conforming her good form with Edwin Gonzalez in the boot for Mark Casse, the fillies trainer here last season.

Note that she took pressure and held very gamely going slightly farther on turf, now gets back to her preferred surface as her record shows, a winner of her only start on an All-Weather surface. Casse is a worthy 19% effective going turf-to-synth.

The mini-turnback should help her conditioning along in start three off the layup and Gonzalez should have learned something from his maiden run aboard the filly last month.

We’re taking All Quality straight at 2-1 or greater and a boxed exacta with tough-tripping Snow Shower for the Patrick Biancone barn, which has been showing sings of life in recent weeks.
