Not many handicappers, self included, have had much success trying to beat an in-form Claudio Gonzalez trainee but the scenario is Friday’s fourth race is just too inviting.
Jumping Michelle (2-1) has been in excellent form, a runner-up in her last two runs following an open-lengths win four starts back, her best races coming at today’s 6F trip.
The horse she finished ahead of last time, by 3-1/2 lengths, returned to win her next start. Alex Cintron has been hot and when teamed with Gonzalez wins at a 36% rate. As stated, she will be a tough out.
It’s worth taking a chance with Silent Fluidity (7-2) and her big late-run engine. Following a $40K maiden win four back, she rebounded last out in this class, at this trip. She loses Trevor McCarthy who takes his regular seat on Timeless Treasure, but broke maiden beneath Xavier Perez here last fall.
Check Out ‘Fluidity’s’ last on the Laurel Park Live Video on the homepage where he late run talents were on display: RACE 7 on FEB 21 coming from nearly six lengths back approaching headstretch. She got up to win by a head with a wide rally, her final quarter clocked in :23 3/5; rollin’!
We’re betting her straight at 5-2 or greater and key-boxing exactas with the favorite and Tara’s Talent for trainer Michael Moore, 21% efficient with shippers into Laurel Park.
